The plan is for us to care for the chickens this spring at our house. Usually they are kept at Max and Denise's farm. Free-range chickens would be nice but risky. Instead, Matt built this chicken tractor. It has chicken wire on all four sides and the bottom so that the chickens can still peck the ground. And it has an insulated roof to protect them from the weather. It will be behind our house in the shade of the trees. It can then be moved every few days to keep the coop clean and fresh.
Currently Boris is enjoying the benefits of the coop since we won't be getting the chickens for a couple more weeks. He's going to feel a little claustrophobic when he has to go back into his original cage. Matt may need to be bribed into making another chicken tractor for Boris!
