So, Elliott gets off the bus this afternoon, and his first question is..........
Elliott: "Mom, do you know what a homophone is?"
Me: (Not willing to go through the embarassment of "not knowing" again.) "Nope, I don't."
Elliott: (With smile on his face and that twinkle in his eye.) "It's words that sound the same but are spelled different."
Me: "Oh." (All I can think about is what question he's going to throw at me next, and also, how am I going to keep up with him in Junior High!)
I need to figure out how Elliott's kindergarten teacher is getting him to be excited about all this English stuff! Then maybe I can use the same technique to get him excited about putting away his laundry!
